In “Music Box – Hallelujah, Leonard Cohen”, I do not seek to represent the song itself, but rather to translate its emotional resonance into matter. Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen has always moved me because of its extraordinary depth: its vulnerability, its spiritual ambiguity, its intertwining of love, loss, desire, and redemption. I wanted to bring that emotional complexity into a physical space.

I work with iron and marble, materials that speak of permanence and endurance, yet I try to guide them toward softness and movement, as though they could yield to emotion. The forms unfold and intertwine like a fugue: they repeat, escape, and return. This rhythm is essential to me, as it echoes the cadence of the song and the way certain memories and emotions continue to resonate within us.

In this piece, the music becomes silent, yet it remains present. It is no longer heard; it is felt. I am interested in that moment when matter holds emotion, when something as intangible as a song can exist through form, and where the viewer completes the work through their own experience.
