Corvengi Mikaelian’s art explores his version of a lost paradise, an ancient and fantastical place inhabited by exotic flowers, wild animals and precious objects. His large-scale exuberant canvases envelope the viewer in exotic sensuality, sparking a journey to an imaginary world. Mikaelian, known as

the master of figurative symbolism, unites opposite elements, creating new

realities that invite a deep dive into his multi layered world. To muse over these dreamlike scenes replete with fantastic allegories and cryptic symbolism, leads to multiple personal readings and interpretations.

Lush forests and deep oceans entwine, dotted with signs of human life, a pearl brooch, tools and mechanisms but, tellingly the human figure is absent. Nature has taken over. Mikaelian’s thick layers of oil and water colour washes are reminiscent of the Old Masters, however Dalí and contemporary life influence him too.

This acclaimed artist has exhibited world wide in cities such as Miami,

New York, Jarkarta, Dehli, Amsterdam and Barcelona. His work features in numerous private and public collections.
