Solo Show at Villa del Arte Galleries

Villa del Arte Galleries is proud to present a solo exhibition by Albert Espona at our space on Carrer de la Tapineria 39, in Barcelona’s historic Gothic Quarter. The opening will take place on May 21st at 6 PM, showcasing a selection of never-before-seen digital works, along with a special presentation by the Espona Foundation. Known for his exploration of nature through digital code, Espona created a body of work that captures the constant movement and transformation inherent in the natural world.

Sunset Cruise — Art on the Sea

After the gallery opening, guests will be transported by shuttle to the port for a sunset cruise, where Espona’s artistic universe extends beyond the screen and into the sea.

The catamaran becomes a floating canvas: the exterior is wrapped in flowing wave-like patterns, echoing Espona’s digital language of repetition and transformation, while the interior is reimagined as a luminous underwater world, featuring sculptural lightboxes and visual elements inspired by marine life and the origins of his digital compositions.

This unique intervention invites guests to experience how Espona’s art transcends traditional formats, blending technology, movement, and nature in a dynamic dialogue with the maritime landscape.
