Claudy Jongstra x Marcos Luengo

Art, Fashion and Ecology

Villa del Arte is pleased to present an exceptional collaboration between textile artist Claudy Jongstra and fashion designer Marcos Luengo. Two creative worlds converge in a project that values craftsmanship, sustainability, and tradition.

From her studio in Friesland, the Netherlands, Jongstra has built an artistic ecosystem where craftsmanship, research, and biodynamic agriculture coexist in perfect harmony. Her work, unmistakable for its vibrant natural tones and rich textures, stems from a deep commitment to the land. The cultivation of historical pigments and the use of wool from native sheep are not merely production processes but a statement of principles: preserving ancestral knowledge and building a more conscious future.

Marcos Luengo, a key figure in Spanish fashion, brings his contemporary vision to this synergy. His focus on noble materials and timeless elegance meets the expressiveness of Jongstra’s textiles, resulting in a series of pieces that explore the intersection of art and clothing. More than just a collaboration, this project is a manifesto on the importance of sustainability in the creative industry.

To celebrate this encounter, workshops will be held on April 8, offering attendees the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Jongstra and Luengo. Through felting, spinning, and weaving techniques, a dialogue will unfold on the relevance of artisanal craftsmanship in the present.

Workshop Schedule:
Each session includes a 30-minute introduction, followed by rotating stations: felting, weaving, and spinning.
