We are excited to announce our collaboration with the Almudín Museum in Valencia for an exhibition showcasing the work of the internationally acclaimed artist Claudy Jongstra. Opening on 6 February and running until 27 April 2025, this exhibition will feature a selection of unique pieces by Jongstra, loaned by Villa del Arte Galleries along with works from TextielMuseum in Tilburg, The Netherlands. Jongstra is known for her innovative use of natural materials, including organic merino wool sourced from Spain, and her strong commitment to sustainability.
The Almudín Museum, a historic former grain store with stunning Gothic-Renaissance architecture, offers the ideal backdrop for Jongstra’s work. This iconic venue accentuates the blend of tradition and modernity that defines her artistic practice. Using wool from her own farm, as well as plant-based dyes and traditional techniques, Jongstra transforms natural fibres into monumental installations rich in texture and colour.
The exhibition at the Almudín will highlight the vital role of art in fostering conversations about environmental stewardship and the preservation of natural heritage. We are proud to contribute to this cultural experience in Valencia and to support the work of such an influential artist. We invite you to explore how Jongstra interweaves art, nature, and sustainability in this not-to-be-missed exhibition.
